Financial Disclaimer: Affiliate Links and Paid Promotion for Yieldstreet Investment Platform

The online crowdfunding platform, Yieldstreet, is making waves in the investment world with its range of alternative investment products. Accredited and non-accredited investors alike can access opportunities in real estate, structured notes, and art through this user-friendly platform. With strong historical returns and multiple account options, including retirement savings accounts, Yieldstreet is attracting attention from investors looking to diversify their portfolios.

Yieldstreet offers investments in various asset classes, including real estate, shipping vessels, legal settlements, art, and financial instruments. The platform charges fees ranging from 1% to 4%, with the Alternative Income Fund having a 1.5% fee. While the platform is best suited for experienced, high-income/high-net-worth investors, it may not be ideal for those with smaller investment amounts.

Investors can access regular interest payouts over the life of the loan through Yieldstreet, but it’s important to note that investments on the platform are highly illiquid. Additionally, the platform offers IRA accounts through a partnership with Equity Trust, allowing investors to add private market investments to their retirement portfolios.

Despite its offerings, Yieldstreet has faced challenges in terms of trustworthiness, with a D rating from the Better Business Bureau and charges from the SEC for failing to disclose important information to investors. However, the platform settled the lawsuit with the SEC, paying a penalty of over $1.9 million.

Compared to other alternative investment platforms like Fundrise and CrowdStreet, Yieldstreet stands out for its diverse range of investment options. While Fundrise is better suited for real estate-focused investors, Yieldstreet caters to a broader range of alternative investments. CrowdStreet, on the other hand, targets wealthy and experienced real estate investors with higher minimum investment requirements.

Overall, Yieldstreet offers a unique opportunity for investors to access alternative investment products and diversify their portfolios. However, potential investors should carefully consider the platform’s fees, liquidity constraints, and the risks associated with investing in alternative assets before making any investment decisions.
