How Colorado Millennials Vee Weir and Joe Bogumill Successfully Managed Their Finances in 2022 Without Traditional Jobs

Colorado millennials Vee Weir and Joe Bogumill are proving that it is possible to make ends meet in 2022 without a traditional 9-to-5 job. Weir, 30, owns a digital marketing firm and a personal finance blog called Vee Frugal Fox, where she shares her journey to becoming debt-free in 2021 and how the increasing cost of living impacts her family’s finances. Additionally, Weir earns up to $16,000 a year as a part-time dogsitter.

On the other hand, Bogumill, 34, is pursuing a degree in anthropology and internal affairs at the University of Colorado while working part-time at a local brewery. Despite their unconventional career paths, the couple was able to navigate financial challenges in 2022 with strategic planning and smart money management.

One of the key strategies the couple employed was sharing one car and utilizing public transit to save on transportation costs. They also audited all of their monthly subscriptions, cutting back on unnecessary expenses like their phone bill and entertainment subscriptions. Bogumill took on extra shifts at his part-time job to offset a decrease in income when he took a break from school, while Weir increased her digital marketing firm’s prices by 20%.

Weir and Bogumill credit their financial literacy and commitment to budgeting and saving for their ability to weather financial storms. By educating themselves through resources like Instagram, podcasts, and blogs, the couple was able to stay calm and financially stable despite changes in their income. Their story serves as an inspiration for other millennials looking to navigate the challenges of modern financial realities.
