Business Planning & Tax Management Workshop
The University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) and Texas A&M are teaming up to host a workshop on Business Planning & Tax Management for Farmers & Ranchers at the UF/IFAS Extension Miami-Dade County on July 11. This workshop aims to equip agribusiness managers with the financial skills necessary to ensure profitability and sustainability in their operations.
Operating a successful agribusiness requires strong financial skills, including filing tax returns with proper deductions and credits, devising robust business plans, implementing asset-protection techniques, managing financial statements, and utilizing USDA programs like the Farm Service Agency’s Farm Loan Program. The workshop will cover these key areas and provide tools to navigate financial planning, tax obligations, estate planning, and understanding financial statements.
The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is free to attend, with lunch included. Advance registration is required, and participants can register on the event website. While the workshop will be conducted in English, Spanish-speaking support will be available for participants with limited English proficiency.
In addition to financial education, experts will assist participants in applying for loans through the USDA Farm Service Agency, which are crucial for farmers and ranchers seeking financial support to start, expand, or maintain their operations. Participation in the workshop will fulfill the USDA FSA financial training requirement for borrowers seeking loans.
Don’t miss this opportunity to enhance your financial skills and improve your agribusiness operations. Register now for the Business Planning & Tax Management workshop at UF/IFAS Extension Miami-Dade County.
